Your example works fine until I enter an invalid date (e.g. 01.13.2006). When the textfield-component loses the focus, the application terminates with a NullPointerException.
I created issue#2 on ulcdatecomponent.dev.java.net.thanks for reporting it. We will fix it as soon as possible. You are welcome to provide a fix, please post it to tdev@ulcdatecomponent.dev.java.net.
